Veronica J. "Vonnie" Orndorff Obituary

In the quiet peace of the early morning hours of February 17, 2026, Veronica “Vonnie” Jean Orndorff left the comfort of her home and went to be forever reunited with the ‘Love of her life”, her husband Greg. In the eternal joy of heaven, together with their Lord Jesus Christ, they will spend eternity with each other.

Vonnie leaves behind to miss her forever her 3 children, Karen Bollinger (Mike), Eric Orndorff (Melissa) and Kurt Orndorff (Amanda). She also will be forever loved and cherished by her grandchildren Tyler Bollinger (Brittany), Jacob Bollinger (Alyssa), Kristin Bollinger, Connor Orndorff, Catherine “Catie” Orndorff, Caroline Orndorff, Simon Orndorff and Alise Orndorff and will be remembered with love by her great grandchildren Addison, Holden, Oliver, Everly, Rowan (who we are sure she is holding in heaven) and Callaghan Bollinger.

Vonnie was born January 5, 1947, the second of ten children to Raymond and Louise Weishaar and will be forever loved by her siblings. She is survived by her sister-in-law Vick Weishaar, sister Elaine Clabaugh, brother Robert Weishaar (Frances), sister Sharon Rang, sister Deb Redding, brother David Weishaar, sister Cindy Hartlaub (Sam) and sister Pam Arentz and special family friend Lisa Hoffman and joined in heaven by her brother Michael Weishaar, brother Steven Weishaar and brother-in-law Brian Arentz. Her large family also includes over 100 nieces and nephews and countless friends and neighbors whose love, visits, meals and prayerful sentiments made her last week’s here on Earth with us a beautiful and memorable time. She leaves behind a hole that will be impossible to fill!

Vonnie and Greg met in their teen years in Bonneauville and set out to build their life together there, grounded in faith and love and spent over 53 years celebrating that love. Vonnie was known by many titles. She was “Betty Crocker” of the family for her amazing pies, “Keeper of the Crock Pot” for meals she made for her family and friends, “The Doughnut Lady” for her annual doughnut day, the family “Thanksgiving keeper of the secret recipes for pumpkin pie and Stuffing”, the church potpie “Chicken lady”, the “Bingo Caller” for all of our family reunions, a member of the “Bonneauville Gazette” neighborhood gossip league, and the “Family and Bonneauville Historian” for having knowledge of generations of who is related to who in town. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her huge network of family and friends.

When the “Love of her life” passed away 5 years ago, she found new pride and joy in learning new tasks. She learned how to run a power washer, how to sand and paint her furniture, how to grow vegetables and how to use an air pump for her flat tire and often said she learned to ‘enjoy her independence”. Her strength was unmatched and fully realized when diagnosed a few short weeks ago with a terminal brain tumor. She was stronger than ever then and made the heartbreaking decision to spend her remaining time here on Earth with us in the comfort of the home she and Dad built, surrounded and supported with the unbounding love of her family and friends. We, as her children, are forever grateful for your help and love over the last few weeks! We could not have survived without all of you! We are also very thankful for her Hospice Team including Adrienne, Stacy, Lisa and Vinette.

A visitation will be held at Kenworthy Funeral Home in Bonneauville on Friday, Feb. 20 from 5-7 pm followed by prayers at 7pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Bonneauville followed by burial in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to wear Red to celebrate Mom’s favorite color. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph the Worker church where Vonnie and Greg celebrated their faith for their entire lives and Vonnie maintained a vital role in the church Potpie Dinners.

May they both rest in eternal happiness reunited forever in heaven. We will miss you Mom and Dad for our entire lives until we meet again.
